This year, Omani Women’s Day is being celebrated under the theme ‘Women are Partners in Development’. Muscat Daily spoke with a few prominent women on the occasion of Omani Women’s Day:

Today, we celebrate the achievements of Omani women, who have contributed and continue to contribute to all areas of life under the empowerment of wise leadership that believes in the importance of involving women in foreseeing and shaping the future and achieving sustainable development.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has emphasised the importance of supporting women. We ensure that women enjoy their rights enshrined in the law, working alongside men in different sectors to serve their nation and society, affirming our everlasting support of these national principles.
The Omani woman is able to excel and provide qualitative input in every section she works in.
The Omani woman is able to achieve heightened levels of success which make the nation proud. Oman always invested in and continues to invest in women.
Today, we also witness the Omani woman overcoming barriers, succeeding and creating positive change in all industries. Whether in the administrative field or science, the Omani woman excels while simultaneously prioritising her children and committing to instilling the right values and morals that will shape tomorrow’s generation.
I look forward to the day when the story of the empowered Omani woman becomes a success story the world learns from; a society that is not led by women and men together will surely stumble and not be able to compete with those that prioritise the empowerment of women.
We call upon Omani women everywhere, in villages and cities, in urban and bedouin communities and in the hills and mountains to roll up their sleeves and contribute to the process of economic and social development. Our nation needs all the arms it can get to continue the path of progress, growth, stability and prosperity.

Today, we celebrate Omani Women’s Day, which is a tribute to her and her efforts throughout the year. His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has affirmed his keenness on Omani women getting the rights guaranteed by the law. Omani women have been involved in many sectors and at different levels of decision-making – in the educational field, labour market, the public arena and community service. Oman has paid full attention to the participation of Omani women in the march of the Blessed Renaissance, providing them with opportunities for education, training and employment, and supporting their role and position in society. Omani Women’s Day means a lot to all Omani women. Since the beginning of the Blessed Renaissance, Omani women have received great care and distinguished honours from the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said as opportunities for education at all stages and levels were opened to them. I believe His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s appointment of Omani women in senior positions is testament to Omani women’s ability to deliver and shoulder responsibilities. We hope that women will have an official holiday on the day of Omani Women’s Day.

Celebrating Omani Women’s Day is a tribute to her efforts in various fields, because women worked hard during the Blessed Renaissance to attain this prestigious position in society. The appointment of Omani women in different fields in key government positions is further testament to the supportive and enabling ecosystem of our country.
