Muscat – Raysut Cement Company, a leading cement producer in Oman and the Middle East, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Khalid Ramis Mohammed al Rawas as the new chief executive officer of the company.

‘Raysut Cement would like to inform the Capital Market Authority, Muscat Stock Exchange and its valued shareholders that the board of directors resolved in its meeting on Wednesday to approve the appointment of Khalid Ramis Mohammed al Rawas as the CEO for Raysut Cement Group,’ the company said in a disclosure to submitted to the Muscat Stock Exchange.

Raysut Cement said Rawas has rich experience of 29 years in recognised local and international banks. He holds international certificates in his field. He joined the company in March 2019.

Rawas’ appointment comes after the company’s board of directors accepted the resignation of Ghose Jotirmoy Pratul Krishna from the position of Raysut Cement Group CEO on Tuesday.

Ghose resigned on Tuesday after the spread of news on social media regarding his legal troubles in India.

However, Raysut Cement, in a disclosure submitted to the Muscat Stock Exchange on Tuesday, assured its shareholders that the news circulating on social media regarding Ghose has nothing to do with Raysut Cement Company or its subsidiaries and sister companies in any connection.

Raysut Cement noted that the issue dos not affect the financial position of the company or its financial statements as this case [in India] was before the joining of Ghose in the company in December 2017.
