Dhofar – The body of a person from a group of eight that was swept away in the sea at Mughsail Beach, Dhofar, was found on Sunday. Two citizens were also reported dead after drowning in the wilayat of Rustaq on Sunday.

A statement issued by Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA), said , ‘The body of a person washed away in the sea at Mughsail Beach in Dhofar was found on Sunday.’

Rescue teams of Royal Oman Police (ROP) and CDAA continue to search for two others missing in Dhofar.

On July 10, the authority received a report of eight people falling into the sea after they crossed a safety barricade in Mughsail Beach. Three of them were rescued immediately, while two others were found dead in a search operation.

Meanwhile, two citizens died after drowning in Wadi al Himli in Rustaq, South Batinah, on Sunday, CDAA stated.
