Muscat – Oman has officially denounced the decision made by the government of the Republic of Colombia to recognise Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan.
In an official statement issued by Foreign Ministry, Oman emphasised that this decision constitutes a clear violation of international law and directly contradicts relevant international legitimacy resolutions, most notably United Nations Security Council Resolution 497 of 1981.
Furthermore, the Sultanate renewed its steadfast position affirming that the Golan remains occupied Syrian territory, while expressing full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic across all its lands.
Oman concluded by calling upon all countries worldwide to strictly adhere to the United Nations Charter, international law, and related international resolutions.
