Muscat – The Ministry of Education (MoE) organised an exhibition at its premises on the occasion of the World Autism Day, which falls on April 2. Called ‘For You We Create, the event focused on activities for people with disabilities.

The exhibition was held under the patronage of H E Majid al Bahri, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs in the MoE, in the presence of Dr Fathia al Saddi, director general of the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuing Learning, and specialists from the ministry.

The exhibition included 15 corners of joint educational materials shared by public, private and international schools in the field of people with disabilities, representing models, panels, and educational and electronic bags for the categories of ‘learning difficulties, intellectual disability, hearing impairment, and autism spectrum disorder’.

The exhibition aimed to highlight the role and importance of educational materials, and to shed light on the services provided by the Ministry of Education in the field of people with disabilities.

Dr Fathia, said, “This exhibition contributes to the exchange of experiences and information between specialists in the field of people with disabilities, and to see the means and methods of teaching, and how to present them in an interesting and attractive way to achieve the goals in teaching this group of students during the educational process through the presentation and explanation provided by exhibitors; How to produce the material, how to use it, and what the results of its use with students with disabilities.”

The event was held in cooperation with the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuing Learning, the Directorate-General of Private Schools and the Educational Departments of the governorates of Muscat, North Batinah, South Batinah, North Sharqiyah, and South Sharqiyah; and the International Schools Office.
