Muscat – Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) held its annual In-Country Value (ICV) Day to mark the tenth anniversary of the launch of its ICV programme and to celebrate the winners of the Raoul Restucci ICV Award, who have gone the extra mile in supporting Oman’s economic development.
The event was held at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.
The ceremony, which was held under the auspices of H E Qais bin Mohammed al Yousuf, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, in the presence of officials from the government and private sectors, highlighted PDO’s main achievements in ICV in the past ten years.
Speaking at the occasion, Steve Phimister, PDO managing director, said, “This is truly a special event that recognises the excellence of our partners who contribute to ICV and support a positive and competitive business culture where the words ‘local content’ are a badge of distinction.”
Winners of the Raoul Restucci ICV Award, previously known as the ICV Awards, were also announced during the ceremony.
The award consists of five categories and the winners are: Arabian Industries Clad (Best Local Manufacturing Facility); Al Shawamikh Oil Services (Best National Objectives Employer); Al Baraka Oilfield Services (Best Contractor in ICV Delivery); Al Ghalbi International (Best Performing Local Community Contractor); and Rihal – Data Migration and Services (Best Performing SME).
In addition, during the event PDO signed a ten-year contract with KCAD Deutag Energy LLC for the provision of drilling services with four new, highly automated rigs that will be built in the sultanate for the first time, in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.
