Muscat – H E Federica Favi, Ambassador of Italy in Oman, conferred the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy awarded by Sergio Mattarella, President of Italy, on H E Talal bin Sulaiman al Rahbi, Vice Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit.

During the conferment ceremony held on February 15 at the Italian ambassador’s residence, she highlighted the contribution of H E Rahbi in strengthening bilateral relations between Italy and Oman in the economic field in his position as Deputy Secretary General of the Omani Supreme Council for Planning and, since 2020, as Vice Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit.

An ‘enthusiast’ of Italy, H E Rahbi has actively contributed to the success of bilateral business forums, Omani-Italian Joint Commission in 2017 and the Rome Med – Mediterranean Dialogues.

The committee of Order of the Star of Italy is headed by the president of the country and was established in 1947 to acknowledge expatriates and foreigners who made outstanding contributions to the reconstruction of Italy after World War II and is now focused on highlighting the contribution of Italians and foreigners who contribute to preserving and promoting Italian national prestige abroad.
