Omani graffiti artist creates giant wall art

22 Dec 2021 By MOHAMMED TAHA

Muscat – To express his love for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the Late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, an Omani graffiti artist has painted portraits of the two on a wall in Harmul in the wilayat of Liwa, North Batinah.

It took Abdulmajeed Mohammed Salim al Mamari, 28, eight hours over two days to paint the portraits, which he said “will impress every one”.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Mamari said, “I have been making graffiti since childhood. This is not the first time that I have painted portraits of the two sultans.” The wall art is 3m high and 4m wide.

Mamari believes his graffiti art, done in several prominent locations around Harmul, add value to the sites and help promote tourism.

“I will continue to promote my country in all its glory through art,” Mamari pledged.
