Muscat – A book on 100 inspiring women from Oman was launched at Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel, on Wednesday. Written by German author Kathleen Nejad, it shares inspiring experiences, thoughts and advice of 100 successful Omani women.

Speaking at the launch, Kathleen said, “The book 100 Inspiring Women is a collection of stories, anecdotes and life lessons from successful women from various professions. One will not only be inspired but also moved and amazed by the stories these women tell about their personal and professional lives. Readers will learn about the lives of these strong women and can implement changes in their own lives.”

She added that the advice and experiences documented in the book can help deal with any crisis in life.

“The book is for women who need to believe in their dreams. We know the challenges of being a woman, of balancing home and office. Readers will find solutions from the personal accounts of the featured women,” she said.

The 268-page book also features photographs of scenic sites in the sultanate, with the objective of raising awareness on tourism in Oman. Plans are currently being worked on to translate the book into other language to reach a wider audience.

One of the featured women, Balqees Sulieman al Hassani, president of the knowledge sharing platform Knowledge Oman and head of well being at Al Sahwa School, a leading private school, said, “I am extremely happy to be featured in this international book. Women empowerment is paramount to the development of a nation.”
