The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR), in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the Ministry of Labour, Nama Holding Company and licensed companies in the electricity sector, is launching a programme to Omanise some jobs in subcontractor companies that work on permanent contracts with state-owned companies.

A statement issued by APSR said, ‘The programme aims to provide opportunities to train and employ 800 young Omanis for various technical positions, which will contribute to raising the current Omanisation rate from 47 per cent to nearly 90 per cent.

‘This initiative comes as part of APSR’s strategy to implement Oman Vision 2040 by developing and enabling Omanis to take up jobs in the electricity sector.’
