The Port of Khasab received 4,828 visitors through two cruise   ships in two days, said an official at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in Musandam.

The port received those visitors on February 6 and 7.

“On February 6, Khasab port received Mein Schiff 5 with 2,419 passengers and 988 crew members and MV Horizon with 798 passengers and 623 crew docked at the port on February 7,” the official told Muscat Daily.

“The tourism section of the OCCI branch in Musandam organises programmes for passengers arriving through cruise ships with the help of tourism companies. The Khasab port is important for cruise ships.

“The Port of Khasab received 134,404 tourists during the winter season of 2018-19, arriving in 63 cruise ships.”

The Ministry of Tourism is expecting a good turnout of passengers this season. The ministry is expecting 310 cruise ships at Oman’s ports. Port Sultan Qaboos will see 166 visits, Port of Salalah 71 and Khasab port 73.
