Over 10,000 tourists visited Port of Khasab through three ships in the past few days, Marafi said.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, an official at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Musandam, said, “On January 16,  the ship MSC Bellissima visited Khasab port carrying 4,527 passengers and 1,599 crew personnel.

“On January 22, Mein Schiff 5 docked at Khasab port carrying 2,487 passengers and a crew comprising 995 personnel, the ship MV Horizon docked with 585 passengers and 628 crew members on January 24.”

He added, “The Musandam Chamber Tourism Station organises tourist programmes for passengers arriving through tourist ships and distributes them to tourism companies affiliated to the branch at the same price. Khasab port is one of the most important stations for cruise ships. The Port of Khasab received 134,404 tourists during the winter season 2018-19 with 63 cruise ships.”

On the future strategies, the official said that Marafi is making great efforts to market Khasab port across the world.
