His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s rule will be the highlight of Muscat Festival 2020.
The festival will be held from January 16 to February 15.
An official in the Muscat Festival Committee of Muscat Municipality said it is leaving no stone unturned to make next year’s festival a grand affair. “There will be many surprises in store for visitors to the festival at Amerat Park and Naseem Garden. “We are planning to showcase the journey of Oman from 1970 to 2019 in next year’s festival.”
This journey of 49 years will be showcased using the state-of-the-art technology – 3D holographic projection technology – brought in from abroad. The official said that it’s a revolutionary technology that delivers amazing visual effects.
“It will mesmerise visitors with awe-inspiring 3D content that appears to be floating in air. The technology allows viewers to interact with the visuals. Holographic technology is a game changer in creating visual effects. It was used to showcase a dragon fly over a baseball stadium in Korea.
“Sports fans saw and interacted with a large, fire-breathing dragon flying over the stadium. In a nutshell, this technology uses a 3D image of a subject by projecting light into the air,” the official said.
