Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) recently appointed Abdulrahman al Yahyaei as the new chief executive officer of the organisation.
Yahyaei joins OPAL with more than 16 years of diverse professional experience in business marketing, planning, finance and business development and has held several senior positions in the government and oil and gas industry. His most recent role was the director at Occidental Oil Asia, responsible for marketing and operations in the Arab Gulf region.
Yahyaei holds a bachelor’s degree in financial accounting from Sultan Qaboos University and MBA from the University of Strathclyde, a press release said.
Speaking on his appointment as the new CEO of OPAL, Yahyaei said, “I am here for the same reason I think most people join OPAL, we are here to standardise certain industry practices and enhance skills through world-class training that empowers people to do amazing things, including empowering our youth and future generations in order to sustain prosperity of the energy sector.”
This decision for the appointment of new CEO was made by the OPAL board of directors as a continued development strategy and a method of allowing new ideas to flow into the sector by appointing highly appreciated and distinguished personnel as team leaders for OPAL.
OPAL’s board of directors expressed their sincere wishes to Yahyaei and wished the OPAL team all the success on their continued efforts in realising their ambition and vision.
