Muscat – Asyad Shipping Company has signed a deal to sell a combined 20% stake in the companies owning two new-build liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers to two Omani investors.

In a disclosure to the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX), Asyad Shipping said it had signed an agreement with Oman LNG Development Foundation (ODF) and Mars Development and Investment LLC following the sale of a 20% stake in the companies that own the two LNG carriers, Muscat LNG and Musandam LNG.

The agreement was signed on July 26, 2026. Under the deal, ODF and Mars will each acquire a 10% shareholding in the companies owning the two LNG carriers, while Asyad Shipping will retain the remaining 80% stake in each company.

The transaction follows Asyad Shipping’s announcement in May 2026 confirming the delivery of the two new-build LNG carriers, which have been deployed under long-term charter agreements with Oman LNG.

Dr Ibrahim Al-Nadhairi, Chief Executive Officer of Asyad Shipping, said the partnership represented another important step in strengthening Oman’s shipping and logistics sectors.

“The participation of strong Omani funds as partners in Muscat LNG and Musandam LNG reflects the confidence placed in these projects and reinforces our commitment to delivering in-country value while supporting economic development,” he said.

“As the company transporting gas on behalf of Oman LNG, we look forward to building on this partnership and continuing to support Oman’s upstream gas industry,” he added.
