Bahla – Dakhliyah Governorate has announced the launch of an investment tender for the development and operation of recreational games at Bahla Public Park, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance public amenities and promote private sector participation in local development.
The tender covers the provision and operation of a range of leisure games, including electrical, electronic and inflatable rides, within a designated area of the park. The project also includes the operation of the existing café on site to ensure integrated visitor services.
According to the governorate, the investment site is located in Bahla Public Park within part of plot No. 357 in Al Maamoura area, spanning a total area of 6,983 sqm. The location is considered one of the wilayat’s key family destinations, attracting steady visitor numbers throughout the year.
The investment period has been set at 15 years, while a grace period of one year and six months has been allocated for construction and preparation. The duration is designed to provide investors with adequate time to establish and operate the project on a sustainable basis.
The initiative reflects the governorate’s approach to optimising the use of public assets through structured partnerships with the private sector. Such projects contribute to improving service quality, diversifying recreational options and supporting local economic activity.
Officials noted that the leisure and entertainment sector is gaining importance as demand for family-oriented facilities grows across the Sultanate. Projects of this nature are also expected to generate employment opportunities and stimulate small business activity linked to tourism and services.
Bahla, a wilayat known for its cultural and heritage significance — including the UNESCO-listed Bahla Fort — continues to attract domestic tourism. Expanding recreational infrastructure is seen as complementary to its cultural appeal.
