MoE launches National Olympiad for Student Scientific Innovation, Robotics, and AI

Muscat – Oman inaugurated the National Olympiad for Student Scientific Innovation, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence for the 2025-2026 academic year on Monday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat. Organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE), the event brings together over 250 students and 108 supervising teachers and specialists from various educational directorates across the governorates.

National Olympiad for Student Scientific Innovation

The annual Olympiad serves as a vital platform for discovering and refining students’ scientific and technical proficiencies, aligning with ‘Oman Vision 2040’ efforts to build a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation. This year’s competition features 70 scientific projects across four fields: Engineering Sciences and Energy, Information Technology, Biological and Environmental Sciences, and Science and Mathematics. Furthermore, the event introduces new categories, including Artificial Intelligence-Enhanced Applications and Cybersecurity, alongside existing robotics and drone competitions, encouraging critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving among Oman’s promising youth.
