Muscat – Just over eight months since the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship got underway in Qatar, the category is back in the Middle East this week for the hotly anticipated season finale at Bahrain International Circuit – where Oman’s Ahmad al Harthy aims to wrap up the campaign on a real high.

Following something of a rollercoaster year for the Sultanate’s number one racing driver and No.46 BMW M4 LMGT3 team-mates Valentino Rossi and Kelvin van der Linde, the trio hopes to conclude the season with a flourish as they bid for a third podium result of 2025.

“It’s always a delight to race as close as possible to home, especially after so much travel across the globe all year, so I really cannot wait to be back in Bahrain this week for the final round of the WEC season,” said Al Harthy.

“We’re expecting a lot of support at the track, and we are determined to fight for the best result possible to round out the championship.

“We’ve had some great highlights, mostly the podiums at Imola and at COTA, and I would love to be able to finish the season with another trophy. Actually, we’re only five points away from the top six in the championship so that’s another target, to see if we can at least match the P6 finish in the points standings we achieved last year,” he said.

From the Qatar curtain-raiser through the travels to Imola in Italy, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, France’s Le Mans 24 Hours, Interlagos in Brazil, Texas in the USA and Japan’s Fuji Speedway, the season has been packed with superb performances from all three drivers.

Equally, though, they have been beset by more than their share of misfortune as well, which has limited the points scoring potential. Going into the season finale in Sakhir, the squad is eighth in the championship standings for both drivers and teams.

Throughout the year the drive for success and commitment has been undimmed and the brace of podium finishes achieved so far, round two at Imola and round six at the Circuit of the Americas, were sensational performances. At the former, the squad only missed out on LMGT3 victory by a mere 0.3 seconds and in the USA an even smaller two tenths of a second was the difference.

The Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain, which takes place this Saturday, 8th November, is always a sparkling event on the FIA WEC calendar and being so close to Oman it means Al Harthy will be able to welcome his biggest crowd of friends, family, partners and supporters this season.
