Manah – The Directorate General of Education in Dakhliyah governorate, through its Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad, launched on Monday the preliminary rounds of the Student Scientific Innovations Competition and the Robotics and Drones Competitions.
The events, held as part of the Dakhliyah Innovation and Robotics Olympiad, will continue for five days at the Recreational Centre in the Wilayat of Manah. The competitions bring together students from grades 5 to 12 from schools across the governorate.
The initiative aims to prepare student teams for the National Olympiad of Students’ Scientific Innovations, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence, scheduled for December.
Ali al Hina’i, Head of the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad at the Dakhiliyah Education Directorate, said the competition helps students develop skills in programming, robotics, and design, and encourages them to apply scientific methods in their projects.
He said the qualifiers have drawn 1,020 participants, including students and supervisors, representing 183 teams in the robotics and drone categories and 162 teams in the student scientific innovations category.
