Muscat – Honourable Lady Sayyida Ahad Abdullah Hamed al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, honoured a group of distinguished Omani women from various sectors in a ceremony marking Omani Women’s Day held on Sunday at Al Barakah Palace.
Among those honoured were Sayyida Dr Sharifa bint Salim bin Ali al Said, Dr Arwa bint Zakaria bin Yahya al Riyami, Dr Amna bint Saif bin Mohammed al Abdul Salam, Dr Hamda bint Hamad bin Hilal al Saadiya, Dr Khalsa bint Hamad bin Mohammed al Bahriya, Khadija bint Nasser bin Jawad al Saatiya, Khawla bint Zayed bin Sultan al Shihi, Dr Khawla bint Said bin Saif al Harthi, Razan bint Hamad bin Salim al Kalbani, Ruqayya bint Ahmed bin Hamoud al Shidhani, Sharifa bint Hussein bin Qasim al Yafie, Shaikha bint Youssef bin Abdullah al Farsi and Ghalia bint Ali bin Mohammed al Mashaykhi.
Others recognised during the event included Fakhriya bint Saif bin Khalfan al Shaibani, Dr Feryal bint Ali bin Khamis al Lawati, Kaltham bint Hamoud bin Ali al Muqbali, Dr Kawthar bint Sulaiman bin Ahmed al Busaidi, Maryam bint Rashid bin Mohammed al Yazidi, Dr Noura bint Salim bin Abdullah al Khalili and Dr Warda bint Abdul Rahman bin Salim Balkhair.
The recognition reflects the esteemed position Omani women hold in society and the continuous support they receive as vital partners in nation-building and shaping the future under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
The ceremony was attended by Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.
