Muscat – Oman is taking part in Brunei Book Festival 2025 as part of efforts to enhance cultural relations between the sultanate and Brunei Darussalam.

The participation is part of the National Cultural Strategy, which aims to highlight Omani intellectual output and introduce Omani authors and publishers, while promoting national cultural identity and expanding the reach of Omani publications in educational and cultural institutions across East Asia.

The fair was inaugurated by Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Brunei, who began his tour with a visit to the Omani pavilion. He reviewed a variety of publications reflecting Omani literature, history and heritage, praising the quality of participation and the content on display.

The Omani pavilion featuring a collection of recent publications from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, alongside materials from government institutions and civil society organisations, is attracting visitors from diverse backgrounds. The pavilion is also showcasing tourism material and photographic displays highlighting Oman’s natural and cultural heritage.

H E Erma bint Said al Khatri, Oman’s Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, emphasised the fact that the participation reflects the depth of cultural relations between the two countries.
