Salalah – Oman Society of Engineers will host the fourth edition of the Salalah Engineering Forum in collaboration with Ministry of Trans-port, Communications and Information Technology from August 31 to September 1. Themed ‘Engineering and Logistics: A Partnership Towards Sustainable Engineering Integration’, the forum will highlight the role of engineers in advancing the logistics sector.
The opening ceremony will be presided over by H E Saeed bin Hamood al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. The forum will address sectoral priorities such as improving supply chain efficiency, enhancing engineering flexibility in logistics networks, promoting environmental models for net-zero goals, advancing human resource development, and upgrading infrastructure to support logistics services.
It aligns with national efforts to implement the Oman Logistics Strategy 2040, which seeks to position the sultanate as a global logistics hub by enhancing infrastructure, supply chains and smart engineering solutions. Experts will discuss challenges and opportunities, while showcasing local and international best practices to improve sectoral readiness in achieving the strategy’s objectives.
