Muscat – Barka recorded the highest temperature in Oman on Thursday, with the mercury rising to a scorching 50.7°C, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Other areas that experienced extreme heat include Hamra al Duru at 49.7°C, and Al Suwaiq and Wadi al Mawil, both registering 49.6°C and Bidbid at 49.0°C.
Temperatures in Al Rustaq and Nakhal were also high, reaching 48.8°C and 48.7°C respectively, while Bawshar and Al Amerat recorded 48.6°C. Fahud and Saham reported 49.1°C and 49.4°C respectively.
All readings were recorded over a 24-hour period at CAA’s official meteorological stations.
