Sur – Joint search efforts are under way for an Omani citizen who went missing after drowning while swimming at Shia Beach in the Wilayat of Sur on Wednesday evening.

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) said on Thursday that the search operation involves the Coast Guard Police Unit, South  Sharqiyah Police Command and Police Aviation, in coordination with the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority.

The man went missing on September 30 after rough sea conditions caused him to drown while swimming, the ROP said.
