Muscat – Dance academy DDA – The Dance Destination secured nine medals and a cash prize at Global Dance Open 2025 held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, England from July 16 to 20.
Competing against over 250 institutions from 37 countries, DDA achieved the highest overall score in Classical Gala – the most coveted across all categories spanning classical, ballet and national folklore. The academy was named ‘Highest Scorer in Classical Gala’, marking a standout achievement on the global stage.
The team participated in 17 competition segments, comprising four group acts, three duets, and ten solo performances. The final medals tally included four golds, two silvers and three bronzes.
A DDA official said the academy’s achievement represents more than competition success. “This journey is about representing Oman with pride, fostering cultural exchange and inspiring future artists. Our continued global recognition reflects the artistic potential in Oman and the importance of structured training and international exposure.”
The 2025 event was DDA’s third consecutive appearance at Global Dance Open. It earlier represented Oman in Spain in 2023 and the Netherlands in 2024.
