Studio Omana, in Jawaharat al Shatti, is an interesting outlet for unique, handcrafted dinnerware and lifestyle goods intended for those who believe in making a style statement
An emerald green tea-set awaits a buyer who’s hooked onto the benefits of emerald – luck and fortune – closely associated with the planet Mercury…translucent hand/mouth-blown vases hold on to tall stories that they have to share…a hand-painted tea cup with a little oriental man promises a mystical fancy for your morning cuppa… You have walked into a realm of experiences!
The store space is limited and what appears as a showroom window is actually the sum total of its existence. But, every item on display here has a story to tell, says the owner who insists that she sells ‘experiences’, not lifestyle goods.
Studio Omana, which opened in November 2023 in Jawaharat A’Shatti, features a stunning selection of homeware, particularly tableware, carefully sourced from around the globe. It has a distinctive range of products available for immediate purchase, while also curating items customised to suit clients’ needs.
“Studio Omana strives to create environments that inspire and uplift. By blending artistic vision with functional design, we aim to enrich the lives of our clients and foster a deeper connection with their surroundings,” says Theresa Lunardon Monteiro, founder and creative director of Studio Omana.
“Our commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail ensures that each space not only meets aesthetic standards but also enhances daily living. We believe that well-designed spaces have the potential to evoke emotions, stimulate creativity, and promote a sense of well-being,” she explains.
In a free-wheeling chat, Theresa shares the essence of Studio Omana which focuses on providing human experiences rather than just household goods. Excerpts:

What prompted you to start Studio Omana?
Studio Omana is a project that blooms from the depths of my heart and passion. Living beautifully has always been a part of me, something I grew up with and hold dear. To spread this vibrant way of life and inspire others to embrace it, feeling the transformative magic it brings, I founded the brand.
What defines your persona – are you creatively inclined, business-oriented or innovative, that it is manifest in your business?
I see myself as a creative spirit with a natural eye for beauty. When I seek out the perfect items or explore new products for the boutique, I’m always led to the most stunning and unique finds.
Did it all begin with a personal collection and a quest to look out for the best when travelling?
To be honest, travelling and the exposure that comes with it definitely influenced how I started the business, but living beautifully has been a part of my life since the day I was born.
What does the range of household goods on display comprise?
In our boutique, you’ll discover a curated collection of treasures – from exquisite plates and delicate coffee cups to elegant glassware, stylish cutlery, luxurious table linens, and stunning vases, all designed to craft beautiful table settings. We are constantly seeking out new, heartwarming pieces that inspire us and resonate with the souls of our clients.
Who are your clients – upper crust of society or middleclass buyers?
Our boutique offers something for everyone. With a wide range of prices, our collection spans from more accessible treasures to luxurious pieces, ensuring there’s something special for every taste and budget.
What makes your store different from other lifestyle stores around town?
The curated collection you see is entirely selected based on our personal taste, which is what gives it its unique character and charm.
Do you face stiff competition from the malls which score higher than you in logistics – procurement, display, after sales service?
While competition is always present, we choose to focus on what truly matters. We guide our business with our hearts and intuition, and it’s this genuine, soulful approach that resonates deeply with our clients.
Are they any goods exclusive to your store that are not available elsewhere in Oman?
Most of our products are exclusive to our boutique, offering a unique selection that can’t be found anywhere else in Oman.
Can you name some available brands?
Absolutely. Legle Limoges, Marie Daage, Lobmeyr, Kosta Boda, Orrefors and more.

Do you take bespoke orders from high profile clients?
Yes, our product range gives us the flexibility to fully customise everything to our clients’ needs and imaginations, creating bespoke table settings that are truly one-of-a-kind.
While we don’t carry vintage items, we are always delighted to seek out bespoke pieces that are as unique and special as our clients’ desires, creating a truly personalized experience.
How have you personally grown after starting this store?
The journey of building this business has been beautiful, filled with its fair share of challenges along the way. I would truly call it a path of self-development – one I embarked on from the very moment I started the business.
