4 Mar 2025

Lisa of BLACKPINK has become the first K-pop artist to perform at the Academy Awards, delivering a striking James Bond tribute at the 97th Oscars ceremony, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Dressed in an elegant black gown, Lisa performed ‘Live and Let Die’, the theme song from the 1973 James Bond film of the same name. She was joined by British singer Raye, who sang Skyfall, and American rapper Doja Cat, who performed ‘Diamonds Are Forever’.

The tribute segment honoured long-time James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, marking a significant moment as creative control of the franchise transitions to Amazon MGM. The performances were introduced by actress Halle Berry and celebrated the enduring legacy of the iconic spy film series.

Lisa’s performance not only showcased her vocal prowess but also underscored K-pop’s growing influence on global entertainment platforms. Her historic appearance at the Oscars reflects the genre’s increasing recognition in mainstream Hollywood.
