Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has conferred the Oman Military Order – Second Class on Chief British Loan Officer Maj Gen Felix Gedney.

The military order was presented by Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, when he received the British officer at his office on Wednesday to bid him farewell at the end of his tour of duty.

Sayyid Shihab thanked the seconded British officer for his efforts in strengthening relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom and wished him further success.

For his part, Maj Gen Gedney commended the strong bilateral relations and expressed his appreciation for the cooperation extended to him during his tenure.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Dr Mohammed Nasser al Zaabi, Secretary-General of Ministry of Defence, and Vice-Admiral Abdullah Khamis al Raisi, Chief of Staff of Sultan’s Armed Forces.
