Muscat – The Ministry of Education (MoE) together with the Ministry of Information is beginning a special television programme on Friday for the general education diploma (GED) students in Oman.
MoE, represented by the Department of Communication and Media, has roped in Oman TV – functioning under the Ministry of Information – to broadcast ‘Lesson on Air’ programme for the GED students, who enrolled for the first semester of the academic year 2023-24.
Oman TV will continue broadcasting the programme until January 24, the ministry informed.
The first episode will begin with a general session to discuss the specifications of exam papers – the most important strategy that the students rely on while preparing.
The interaction session will make students aware of the correction mechanism, important rules and regulations that the exam takers must adhere to, with practical advice to help them get rid of anxiety and stress.
The episodes on Saturday and Monday will be on advanced mathematics, while the one on Sunday will be on basic mathematics.
The programme will discuss the Arabic language in its January 13 episode (Saturday).
Episodes during the second week of the programme will cover social studies (This is My Homeland), chemistry, geography, modern technologies and chemistry again.
The programme will cover physics, English language, biology and history (The World Around Me) in the subsequent episodes of ‘Lesson on Air’.
The programme aims to help GED students of Grade 12 take exam confidently by guiding them through a number of supervisors and teachers specialised in various subjects.
The experts will answer various questions of the students, who can reach them either on phone (2494621/24601538), by email, or through the programme’s websites on social media accounts, or with the hashtag #Live Lesson.
The programme will start at 4pm and run for an hour and a half, officials informed.
