Muscat – The Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Sunday elected Dr Rashid bin Hamad al Balushi as its chairman and Saud bin Saleh al Mawali as his deputy in accordance with Article 3 of its bylaws and Royal Decree No 57/2022.

Balushi said that the committee will work on developing a national human rights strategy and establish an institutional identity for the committee that can adequately reflect the mission and vision of the panel.

Dr Balushi added that the committee will work hard to raise Oman’s rating to level A of the International Foundation of Human Rights.
