Nizwa – The Governorate of Dakhliyah has unveiled plans for projects valued at over RO21mn. Sheikh Hilal Said al Hajri, Governor of Dakhliyah, signed agreements totalling RO11mn on Tuesday, marking a crucial step towards the governorate’s development.

Among the agreements, key projects include paving internal roads in the wilayats of Al Hamra, Bahla and Samail. Additionally, substantial improvements will be made to the entrance of Nizwa. In a bid to enhance community spaces, plans also involve establishing a feed market in Adam and developing a park in Bidbid. The commercial areas in Bidbid, Bahla, Nizwa and Manah are set to undergo extensive development.

An official in the Dakhliyah Governor’s Office emphasised the overarching goal of these projects, stating, “Our aim is to invigorate commercial and tourism activities while creating vibrant spaces for families across all the wilayats in the governorate.”

Currently, the governorate is actively implementing 48 projects with a budget exceeding RO9.9mn as part of the Governorate’s Development Programme.

These projects include 21 initiatives dedicated to development of commercial areas, and paving and maintenance of roads, totalling over RO8mn. Additionally, five projects focus on establishing and maintaining markets, amounting to approximately RO500,000.

Three projects prioritise the enhancement of gardens, road landscaping and development of wilayat entrances, costing RO319,000. The remaining 19 projects are estimated to cost approximately RO700,000.

The wilayat of Bahla witnessed remarkable progress, including paving 31km of internal roads.
