Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued three Royal Decrees on Tuesday reading as follows:

Royal Decree No 20/2023 ascribes public utility status to the project of constructing dams for protection against floodwater (ANS02 & ANS03) in Wadi al Ansab in the wilayat of Bausher, Muscat.

• Article 1 states that the construction of the flood protection dams ANS02 & ANS03 in Wadi al Ansab in the wilayat of Bausher, Muscat, as defined in the memo and diagram attached to this decree, is henceforth deemed a public utility project.
• Article 2 stipulates that authorities concerned may expropriate, through direct implementation, the properties and land necessary for the project aforementioned in Article 1, along with all the installations therein in accordance with the Public Utility Expropriation Law promulgated by Royal Decree 64/78.
• Article 3 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.

Royal Decree No 21/2023 ascribes public utility status to the project of constructing a dam for protection against floodwater in Wadi Tahwa, in the wilayat of Al Kamil Wa al Wafi, South Sharqiyah.

• Article 1 states that the construction of the flood protection dam in Wadi Tahwa, in the wilayat of Al Kamil Wa al Wafi, as defined in the memo and diagram attached to this decree, is henceforth deemed a public utility project.

• Article 2 stipulates that authorities concerned may expropriate, through direct implementation, the properties and land necessary for the project aforementioned in Article 1, along with all the installations therein in accordance with the Public Utility Expropriation Law promulgated by Royal Decree 64/78.

Royal Decree No 22/2023 ascribes public utility status to the project of constructing the dam for protection against floodwater (Z4C) in Wadi al Zuhaimi in the wilayat of Liwa, North Batinah.

• Article 1 states that the construction of the flood protection dam Z4C in Wadi al Zuhaimi in Liwa, North Batinah, as defined in the memo and diagram attached to this decree, is henceforth deemed a public utility project.
• Article 2 stipulates that authorities concerned may expropriate, through direct implementation, the properties and land necessary for the project aforementioned in Article 1, along with all the installations therein in accordance with the Public Utility Expropriation Law promulgated by Royal Decree 64/78.
• Article 3 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
