Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), at Al Barakah Palace on Wednesday.

At the outset, the guest conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to His Majesty the Sultan, along with his good wishes for good health and wellbeing.

On his part, His Majesty asked the guest to convey his greetings to Sheikh Mohamed, along with his wishes to him and the Emirati people for continued growth, development, and prosperity.

The two leaders discussed matters of interest to Oman and the UAE at various levels, in a manner that serves the common interests and aspirations. In addition, views were exchanged on the rapid developments in the region and ways to achieve calm and de-escalate tensions through balanced diplomatic means and intensified coordination and consultation, to safeguard the interests and security of states.

The meeting was attended from the Omani side by H H Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs; Gen Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office; Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; and Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority.

It was attended from the Emirati side by Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Mohamed bin Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment; and a number of officials.

The guest was welcomed and seen off at the Royal Private Airport by H H Sayyid Theyazin, accompanied by Gen Al Nu’amani and Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Ambassador of the UAE to Oman.
