More than 300 experts to attend paediatric meet on Feb 24-25

Muscat – More than 300 participants are set to attend the third edition of the Oman Paediatric Society International Conference on February 24 and 25 at Sheraton Oman Hotel.

Medical practitioners from the region and Oman will share their expertise on important topics of general paediatrics.

Giving details on the conference, Dr Sumaya al Araimi, chairperson of the society said, “The Oman Paediatric Society International Conference is working in collaboration with other institutions to share best practices and experiences through keynote introductions, workshops, symposium, lectures and more. It is an international conference with inspiring local and international speakers. It will feature speakers from the Gulf countries as well as delegates from around the world.”

The theme of the conference – Together for Better Care – will focus on a multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of paediatric diseases. It will include six educational, interactive and hands-on workshops on paediatric medicine, such as non-invasive ventilation, home ventilation and care, assessment of adolescent in clinical setting, and liver diseases.

Dr Sumaya added, “Obesity is a major problem seen in children due to fast food and lifestyle issues. This conference will discuss the latest recommendations and available surgical options. It will offer an interdisciplinary stage to specialists and professionals to present and talk about the latest developments and trends, in addition to challenges experienced in paediatric medicine.”

The conference is being organised by Oman Paediatrics Society in collaboration of Oman Medical Association and other institutions.
