Muscat – The Muscat International Book Fair Committee has invited design ideas from companies and creative individuals to suitably depict the theme of this year’s exhibition scheduled to begin on February 22.

‘The committee invites all specialised companies, Omani designers and residents to participate in the competition,’ said the organisers, adding that the theme should express ‘the role of Oman, its cultural depth and interests in books’.

The theme design for the 27th edition of the fair ‘should be distinctive, modern and non-traditional, and should not exceed four colours’, and ‘should include the name of Muscat International Book Fair in Arabic and English’.

One participant can submit a maximum of two designs and the last date for submission of designs is January 22. The winner will get RO1,000.

The 2023 book fair will include a diverse range of cultural programmes appealing to the tastes of avid readers from across different categories, including academic, cultural, literary and scientific.

The event, which will run until March 4, will include family and children’s programmes fulfilling their educational aspirations and facilitating development of skills. Emphasis will be laid on the sciences of the future, providing access to a wide repository of knowledge.
