Muscat – Thunderstorms associated with active wind and hail are predicted over parts of the Sultanate of Oman on Sunday evening.

In a statement, Oman Meteorology said, ‘There are chances of the formation of convective clouds and thunderstorms, accompanied by active winds and hail, on the Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas and the desert of Dhofar.’

The weather effects may extend to the Dakhliyah deserts, the Dhahirah deserts, and parts of the Al Wusta deserts during the afternoon and evening, it added.

On Sunday morning, Jabal Akhdhar, Hamra, Awabi, Samayil and Quriyat reported cloud formation.
