Salalah – Salalah Grand Mall opened its doors to the public on Monday. The RO35mn commercial complex will support the retail sector and entertainment industry.

Salalah Grand Mall was developed through a partnership between the Ministry of Defence’s Pension Fund, several other government investment funds and Al Madina Real Estate Company. It is spread over an area of 103,000sqm and construction area of 55,000sqm. It comprises a hypermarket and outlets selling local, regional and international brands.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of H H Sayyid Marwan Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and attended by Dr Mohammed Nassir Al Za’abi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence.

On the occasion, H H Sayyid Marwan said that the sultanate is witnessing concerted efforts to secure the success of the economic diversification policy and motivated growth across all sectors to achieve the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

He added that plans and initiatives for the improvement of the business climate augmented the volume of investment in many sectors, including the tourism sector, which attracted many projects recently.
