Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has issued violations against 11 establishments for running hotels without obtaining tourist licenses in Dhofar.

A statement issued by the ministry, said, ‘n the context of checking hotel and tourist establishments to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, has issued a number of violation notices against 11 establishments for running hotels without obtaining tourist licenses in Dhofar govern orate.’

In January 2022, violation notices were issued against many establishments for running hotels without obtaining tourist licenses including a violation against a residential building in Barka that engaged in tourist activity without any license and two other violations against two establishments that engaged in hotel activity without obtaining tourist licenses in Muscat Governorate.

The ministry calls on all unlicensed establishments to stop practising activities until the conditions are met and to obtain the necessary approvals and licenses in order to avoid legal proceedings in accordance with the executive regulations of the Tourism Law.
