Rustaq – The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), represented by the Consumer Protection Department in Rustaq, South Batinah Governorate, has launched the “Protection and Safety” awareness campaign targeting students at public and private schools in the wilayats of Rustaq, Musannah and Al Awabi.
The campaign forms part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to raise consumer awareness among younger generations, promote responsible and informed consumption, and instil sound purchasing habits from an early age.
The initiative aims to familiarise students with their consumer rights and responsibilities, strengthen their ability to make informed purchasing decisions, and encourage positive consumer behaviour when selecting and buying products. It features a series of awareness programmes and activities, including educational lectures, interactive sessions, competitions and simplified educational materials tailored to different age groups to deliver key messages in engaging and accessible ways.
The campaign covers several topics relevant to students’ daily lives, including checking product information and quality, reading labels, comparing prices, retaining purchase receipts, distinguishing between products and practising safe online shopping. It also highlights ways to protect consumer rights and report unlawful commercial practices.
