Jabal Akhdar – More than 1,000 runners representing 34 countries will take part in the fourth edition of the Himam Trail Run Race 2026 in Jabal Akhdar, Dakhliyah on Friday.

The runners will compete across five mountain routes ranging from 4km to 50km, with different distances and age categories.

The event highlights Jabal Akhdar’s natural terrain as a setting for mountain sports and adventure activities, with participants running through high-altitude landscapes, traditional mountain villages and rugged terrain.

The main races will cover 50km, 30km, 20km, 10km and 4km, with the 50km course being the longest and most demanding.

The 50km race will start at Hail Al Diyar, with a cumulative elevation gain of more than 2,100m and a maximum time limit of 15 hours. The finish will be at DusitD2 Jabal Akhdar Resort.

The 30km and 20km races will start from Wadi Bani Habib Park, featuring cumulative elevation gains of more than 1,280m and 560m respectively.

The 10km race will start from Saiq village, while the 4km course will begin at Hail Al Yemen and is dedicated to participants aged between 10 and 14.

This year’s edition also introduces 1km and 2km Fun Runs, both starting and finishing within the grounds of DusitD2 Jabal Akhdar Resort.

These are aimed at encouraging younger participants to take part in running and outdoor activities.

The mountain routes combine physical endurance with an opportunity to experience Jabal Akhdar’s distinctive landscape, adding to the range of sporting and outdoor activities hosted by Dakhliyah.

The event also contributes to the development of sports and adventure tourism by attracting runners and outdoor enthusiasts while supporting tourism and hospitality services in the governorate.
