Yanqul – A major tourism and leisure project in Yanqul in Dhahirah has reached 85% completion and is expected to be ready before the end of the year, with an estimated investment of RO2mn.

The Italat Yanqul (Yankul Viewpoint) project covers about 65,000sqm and is strategically located along a key economic road linking Dhahirah with North Batinah.

Ali bin Said Al Jasasi, Director of the Technical Affairs Department at Dhahirah Municipality, said the project was designed as an integrated tourism, recreational and economic destination.

He described its location on an important connecting route  which would help enhance its appeal to residents, visitors and travellers between the two governorates.

“The project is an integrated tourism, modernisation, entertainment and economic development,” Al Jasasi said.

With construction now at around 85%, work is progressing towards completion before the end of 2026.

The project is part of efforts to develop modern public and tourism facilities in Dhahirah and create new destinations that can serve local communities while supporting visitor activity.

Its 65,000sqm site provides substantial space for tourism and recreational facilities, giving the project the potential to become a prominent destination in Yanqul.

The municipality said the project is expected to contribute to economic activity in the wilayat by attracting visitors and providing a new destination along the route connecting Dhahirah and North Batinah.

The location is also expected to give the development wider accessibility, particularly for travellers using the road between the two governorates.

With the project now in its final stages, attention is turning to completing the remaining works ahead of its targeted year-end opening.
