Duqm – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik visited the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) on Wednesday.

During the visit, His Majesty reviewed the most significant economic, investment and development projects in the zone, the expansion it has witnessed in recent years, and efforts to transform it into an integrated economic zone.

His Majesty the Sultan heard a briefing on the zone and the Port of Duqm, the achievements and future plans to create a conducive investment environment and attract more local and foreign investment.

His Majesty the Sultan gave directives to continue investing in the zone’s assets to consolidate its position as a promising economic and logistics hub and maximise the benefits of its strategic location.

Upon His Majesty’s arrival at the Port of Duqm, he was received by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, and a number of officials from the port and companies operating in the zone.

At the conclusion of the visit, His Majesty wrote a message expressing his pleasure at visiting SEZAD and at the achievements he witnessed, which, he described as a source of pride.

His Majesty praised the integration of national efforts in contributing to the building and development of the zone.

His Majesty affirmed that the promising zone, with its access to the world’s seas, is a vital contributor to the national economy, opening new horizons for the future and standing as one of the pillars of Vision 2040.
