Riyadh — Oman has signed a  participation contract with Expo 2030 Riyadh, formally confirming the sultanate’s presence at the World Expo, which will be held from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031.

The agreement marks a significant step in Oman’s preparations for Expo 2030 Riyadh, paving the way for the development of its national pavilion and the shaping of its wider participation and engagement throughout the six-month global event.

The participation contract was signed at the Expo 2030 Riyadh site by H.E. Sayyid Saeed Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture and Commissioner General of the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion, and Talal Al Marri, Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2030 Riyadh.

Commenting on the occasion, H.E. Sayyid Saeed Sultan Al Busaidi said the signing represented an important milestone in Oman’s preparations and reflected the longstanding ties between Oman and Saudi Arabia.

“The signing of the participation contract marks an important milestone in the Sultanate of Oman’s preparations for Expo 2030 Riyadh, and reflects the depth of the historic ties and deep-rooted cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he said.

“Standing today on the ground that will host the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion, we look ahead to a participation that presents Oman’s heritage and culture, the achievements of its people and their ambitions. We wish Expo 2030 Riyadh every success.”

International participation is at the heart of Expo 2030 Riyadh’s ambition to create a global platform for action and collaboration. Under the theme ‘Foresight for Tomorrow’, the World Expo will bring together nations and organisations to examine shared challenges and emerging opportunities, exchange knowledge and perspectives, and build new partnerships.

Through dialogue and collaboration, Expo 2030 Riyadh aims to encourage new thinking and accelerate progress towards a more sustainable and prosperous future.

Expo 2030 Riyadh is expected to bring together 197 Official Participants and attract around 42 mn visits from around the world.
