Muscat – Indian rap pioneer and entertainer Baba Sehgal is set to take the stage in Muscat on October 29, 2026, promising an evening of music, nostalgia, humour and entertainment for audiences in Oman.

The performance will be held at Sheraton Oman Hotel, featuring Sehgal’s trademark mix of rap, catchy Hindi lyrics, comedy and unconventional entertainment.

One of the pioneers who helped take rap into India’s mainstream popular culture, Sehgal rose to prominence in the 1990s with songs that combined Hindi lyrics, humour and rap at a time when the genre was still relatively new to Indian audiences.

Over the decades, he has carved out a distinctive identity as a rapper, songwriter, television personality and entertainer, remaining a recognisable figure in Indian popular culture.

His Muscat show is expected to strike a chord with audiences who grew up with his early hits, while also introducing his playful and irreverent musical style to a younger generation.

Organised by NHP EVENTS, the event is supported by Sheraton Oman Hotel as Hospitality Partner, Nexus Novel Advertising, Al Hashar Pharmacy.

Tickets are currently available from OMR 7.5 per person, including one beverage, through the event website.

The evening is expected to bring together members of Oman’s Indian expatriate community and music lovers from across the Sultanate.

Known for blending music with satire and social commentary, Sehgal’s playful approach helped introduce rap to a much wider Indian audience during the genre’s formative years in the country.

The Muscat performance will offer fans an opportunity to experience his signature stage act live, with popular numbers, rap and his trademark comic presentation expected to feature during the evening.

The show comes as Muscat continues to attract Indian artistes and entertainment acts, catering to the city’s large and diverse expatriate community.
