Suhar– A joint field campaign to inspect fuel stations across North  Batinah Governorate has kicked off, with authorities checking compliance with consumer protection, commercial and environmental requirements.

The campaign, which runs until September 8, is being conducted by the Directorate General of Consumer Protection in North Batinah in cooperation with the Directorate General of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and the Environment Department.

It covers fuel stations in the wilayats of Suhar, Saham, Shinas, Liwa,  Suwaiq and Khaburah and is being carried out by the joint committee established under Decision No. 6/2025.

Inspectors are checking the accuracy of fuel-pump calibration, compliance with official fuel prices and their clear display, payment policies and the proper issuance of invoices.

The campaign also verifies the validity of commercial licences, fuel quality and compliance with national standards.

Environmental checks include the condition of fuel tanks and systems designed to prevent spills and pollution, hazardous-waste management procedures and the readiness of stations to implement environmental emergency plans.

The campaign aims to strengthen oversight of fuel stations, ensure compliance with approved regulations and safeguard consumer rights while promoting transparency and environmental safety.
