A season to gather: Alila Jabal Akhdar welcomes the pomegranate harvest

3 Sep 2026 Alila Jabal Akhdar welcomes the pomegranate harvest

Jabal Akhdar – This September, Alila Jabal Akhdar invites guests to slow down, reconnect and experience the mountain at one of its most generous moments, as pomegranate season brings colour, flavour and a renewed sense of togetherness to Jabal Akhdar.

Why pomegranate season is so special in Jabal Akhdar

Pomegranate season is a short, anticipated moment in the mountain calendar. Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism identifies August and September as the time when visitors can pick Omani pomegranates, while the Al Hajar Mountains offer a milder climate than the lowlands. At Jabal Akhdar, the harvest connects a distinctive mountain landscape with local orchards, seasonal foodways and the community’s long-standing relationship with cultivation.

The experience is special because it can be felt rather than simply described: guests walk among the trees, harvest the fruit, taste its sweet-tart freshness and see it transformed by the culinary team. The ruby colour, delicate balance of flavour and limited harvest window make pomegranate a natural expression of place and season. It is also a story of contrast—terraced green orchards and dramatic rock faces, warm Omani hospitality and refreshing mountain air, an ancient agricultural rhythm and a contemporary Alila experience.

A mountain escape shaped by the harvest

Set nearly 2,000 metres above sea level, where the air is approximately 15°C cooler than the lowlands, the resort offers a refreshing September escape, with stays starting from OMR 135++ and 15% back in resort credit. The credit may be enjoyed across the resort’s restaurants, Spa Alila and Alila Experiences, allowing guests to shape their stay around the moments that matter most to them.

Beyond a seasonal offer, it is a way to experience Jabal Akhdar more closely—walking through the orchards, taking part in the harvest and discovering pomegranate through menus inspired by the surrounding landscape.
