Muscat – Future Fund Oman (FFO) is investing RO4mn in a RO12.7mn maternal and fetal care project that will establish Muscat’s first specialised hospital dedicated to women’s health.
Oman Investment Authority (OIA) said the Maternal and Fetal Care Centre will focus on specialised care for mothers and fetuses while incorporating advanced medical technologies and innovations.
The project will be developed over an area of around 22,000sqm and have more than 23 specialised rooms, according to details released by OIA.
The hospital will also provide fertility treatment and in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) services, widening the range of specialist women’s healthcare available in the capital.
OIA said the project already has a database of more than 40,000 registered patients, providing an established patient base as the investment moves forward.
The authority described the project as a significant addition to Oman’s healthcare sector, aimed at improving the quality of specialised services for women, mothers and fetuses.
FFO is OIA’s investment vehicle established to support economic diversification by investing in projects and businesses within the sultanate.
The Maternal and Fetal Care Centre project will be managed by Tanmia.
Established in 1998, Tanmia – Oman National Investments Development Company – invests across public and private markets and manages investments aimed at supporting sustainable economic growth.
The healthcare investment adds to FFO’s growing portfolio of projects across sectors identified for private sector growth and economic diversification.
FFO has been positioned as a vehicle to attract investment into Oman while backing commercially viable projects capable of contributing to economic development, employment and the localisation of expertise.
