Salalah – The number of visitors to Dhofar this khareef  reached 472,000 between June 21 and July 31, marking a 6.9% increase compared to the corresponding period of 2025, according to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Omani visitors accounted for the largest share of arrivals, representing 76.3% of the total during the period, underlining the strong appeal of the season among residents from across the sultanate.

The NCSI figures also show that the majority of visitors travelled to Dhofar by land. Land arrivals accounted for 75.1%, while 24.9% arrived by air.

Visitors in July represented 95.5% of the total recorded during the period from June 21 to July 31, demonstrating the strong acceleration in tourism activity after the beginning of the season.

With khareef continuing till September 21, visitor numbers are expected to rise further as the governorate enters the peak tourism period.
