Muscat – Environment Authority (EA) is actively monitoring the environmental situation in marine and coastal areas. As part of precautionary measures, the authority has issued essential guidelines for visitors to these zones.

In the event of observing any oil patches nearby, individuals are instructed to stay away from the affected area, avoid touching the oily materials, and refrain from swimming in the affected waters.

Furthermore, the public must not attempt to clean or remove the spill individually, leaving all handling to the specialised teams. Citizens and residents are urged to immediately report any oil patches, injured marine life, or dead marine organisms via the designated phone number 93930088.

Finally, individuals must adhere to the directives of competent authorities, rely solely on official information, and avoid sharing unverified reports.
