Pakistan – Nadhira Al Harthy, Oman’s popular mountaineer, lost her life in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan.

The Alpine Club of Pakistan confirmed on Friday that Al Harthy was among the climbers who lost their lives after the avalanche struck during an expedition on July 30.

Al Harthy made history as the second Omani, and the first Omani woman, to summit Mount Everest, inspiring generations of adventurers across the Sultanate. She also successfully climbed several of the world’s highest mountains, including Manaslu, K2 and Nanga Parbat.

Remembered for her courage, determination and pioneering spirit, Al Harthy leaves behind an enduring legacy that elevated Oman’s presence in the world of high-altitude mountaineering.
